The physical change of our Garden City, in particular the CBD RED ZONE, is phenomenal.
The reality going forward is that the new city will have a very different look from the Christchurch of old.

While a city can be rebuilt, the way of life for so many people cannot. Many people experienced the terror associated with being in the CBD / RED ZONE on February 22nd.
Kate Barron is one of the worst affected, who like so many, now face a very different and challenging future. After receiving the following request from one of Kate's close friends, we have decided to help; In the February earthquake my close friend Kate (Kate Barron, 24 years old) was seriously injured. Kate worked in the PGC Building when the earthquake struck on February 22nd and was trapped in the collapsed building for approximately 12 hours before being rescued. Sadly she suffered injuries to such an extent that both of her legs had to be amputated. Kate has undergone many operations in the past few months, suffered a great deal of pain and is likely to remain in hospital for quite some time. A group of close friends have got together to help Kate by raising funds to help assist her in what will be a really challenging period when she eventually leaves hospital. In order to achieve this we are asking for help from our community and nation alike. $145 per person / including GST $25 per person will be donated to The Kate Barron Trust A/C."
