Get up close and personal to Kaikoura's incredible resident dusky dolphins in their stunning natural
environment!
Encounter Kaikoura is a friendly and enthusiastic business dedicated to providing our customers with
a magical experience of a lifetime!
We operate picturesque tours along the spectacular Kaikoura coastline, and give you the option
to swim* and interact with wild dusky dolphins or watch their playful acrobatics in the open ocean
from the comfort of our boat.
Encounter Kaikoura have the highest success rate in New Zealand to locate AND swim with
dolphins!
Swimming with the dolphins is an exhilarating and exertive experience and those who book to
swim should be confident swimmers in open water.
Snorkelling experience is an advantage though
not essential as lessons can be provided on board.

*Adult Watch NZ$80
*Child Watch NZ$40(8-14 years)
Includes:
Transfers between our base and the harbour, and back.
Provision of all the gear for swimmers; full body wetsuit, snorkel, mask and fins (extra
floatation aids and prescription masks available on request).
Light refreshments on board (ginger cookies & hot chocolate!) (conditions permitting)
Our vessels have ample seating, an on board toilet and a hot water boat shower.
There are also blankets on board should these be required in the colder months.
At base there are changing room facilities with hot showers for after the tour and a hairdryer.
Complimentary information pack on return from the tour.
Towels are also available for hire.

We close just one day each year - Christmas Day!
Duration:
Tours last approximately 3½ hours, and you will typically spend approximately 2½ hours on
the water.
Check in:
To confirm your check in time for your trip please report if possible the day prior, to our base at 96 Esplanade, and then again on the trip day.

What to bring:
Swimmers should bring a swimsuit and a towel, and all tour partipants should bring warm
clothing (layers are a good idea), a small bag for all their gear, sunscreen and of course their
camera!
Please note our tours operate in the open ocean and we are subject to sea conditions and weather on the day of thetour. All tours are also subject to minimum numbers to operate.
Adult Dolphin Watch $80 : ( Children 3-14 years**)
**Sea conditions on the day need to be ideal for children to participate on this tour. The skipper reserves the right to increase the age limit if they believe the conditions warrant this decision.
