Day 1: Tuatapere to Okaka Lodge - 12km

Begin your epic adventure by taking to the skies in a thrilling helicopter ride over the beautiful Te Waewae Bay. Your walk will begin with a climb to the top of the Hump Ridge where you can soak up the amazing views of lush native forest and experience the awe inspiring views from Stag Point. View the beautiful islands in the distance and the dramatic Fordland mountains and lakes. A hot shower awaits you in your private room with super king sized bed at your lodge 'on top of the world'. Savour the delicious home cooking of the lodge manager who's hospitality will ensure you feel right at home.

Day 2: Okaka Lodge to Port Craig Lodge - 20km

Following breakfast, you'll meander on down the Hump Ridge with its superb panoramic views of Te Waewae Bay, the beautiful South Coast, Waitutu terraces and the snow capped mountain ranges. Pass over the three historic wooden viaducts built nearly 100 years ago before making your way to the old sawmill town of Port Craig. The interpretive trail is ideal for those with a keen interest in history and relics that surround the village. Alternatively, you can take a stroll to the beach where you may be lucky enough to see the Hector dolphins that frequent the area. Upon arrival at the lodge, you can sit back, relax and enjoy your new coastal backdrop.

Day 3: Port Craig Lodge to Tuatapere - 20km

The last leg of your incredible journey begins with a walk under the beautiful native bush canopies. From here you can stroll along the deserted golden sand beaches including that of Blowholes Bay where the waves blow up through the ring of rocks - a mind blowing sight! Finally, you'll walk back over the section you flew over by helicopter, experiencing it this time at beach level.
