Milford Sound Encounter Cruise was a wonderful experience and was made even more special by the arrival of the dolphins, add to that the seals, waterfalls, and scenery, it is an experience not to be missed by visitors and New Zealanders alike.

milford sound cruise with southern discoveries
missed our trip because our car broke down. team was very nice and transfaired us to an other cruise where we even got a breakfast for free. breakfeast was small an simple but good. even the coffe. weather was awesome. skipper was friendly, funny and told us a lot of interesting stuff, answered questions accurate. we enjoyed it a lot and would definitelly do it again!

Southern Discoveries Milford Cruise
Cruise was excellent, went in the middle of a drought so less waterfalls but still the fiord was incredible to see. The operators reacted to passing wildlife, like a fur seal fighting with birds for fish, and expertly maneuvered the boat so we got to see/photo all the action. Dave the guide was great, humorous and informative, and made us feel very welcome. The rainbow through the waterfall was particularly special, thank you for a wonderful afetrnoon.

Simply Incredible!
Our experience was amazing. We were running late and the staff actually held the boat for 5 minutes for us. The crusie was an excellent one through one of the most beautiful places I've ever, and probably ever will, encounter. The tour narrator was not as enthusiastic as I expected him to be, but his bleak and cloudy monologue ended up adding to our experience since it offered plenty of comedic relief. Also, the half priced sandwiches at the end of the cruise was an excellent idea.

The Warerfall
It was great to see same saels and go very near to the long warerfull. Only the guide haven t spoken a lot and also not loud enough.

Great experience
Had a great cruise ( even in the fog & rain). Would love to do again on clear day. Easily booked, good prices, no hassles. Boat was comfortable with plenty of room to move around & warm up by the heaters. Coffee & tea was ok.Went quickly for 2.25 hours.

Great Experience!
This trip was wonderful. Excellent commentary and a beautiful trip. Wish we had have booked an earlier trip and gone to the observatory, and spent more time on the drive to Milford. The boating experience was excellent though.

Stunning Views!
Very informative. Staff were friendly. Views are stunning and getting upclose and personal with a couple of waterfalls was exhilirating! The only downside about this is the sandflies, and this cannot be control.

Great cruise despite not seeing dolphins
The captain definitely made every effort to try and locate some dolphins, but they seemed intent on hiding. We did see quite a few seals, and it was a gorgeous day.

Great experience
I booked this for myself and three friends. We had a great time. I have done 2 Milford cruises before and this was my favourite. We got really close to the waterfalls and got some great pictures. The commentary was easy to hear and entertaining as well as informative.
