Pretty amazing experience if you are a tourist and have never seen geothermal activity before. The facilities are in need of some TLC though.

The only Maori owned and managed place which has to be on your list of places to visit. Unusual geo thermal activity and great place for spa treatments as well!

Hells Gate & Thermal Spa
Hells Gate was a great experience. Very knowledgeable guide with guided tour going for 1.5hrs. Lovely thermal mineral spa to finish it off.

Hells Gate
The Hells Gate experience we had yesterday was fantastic. Taking my 17 and 13 year old boys I was a little worried that they would get board but it was quite the opposite. The guide was full of knowledge and great stories of the history and amazing culture regarding Hells Gate. Thankyou Hells Gate it made our short stay in Rotorua all the more worthwhile!

Good experience
After reading some bad reviews I was a little anxious, but I had nothing to worry about. The staff were helpful and the walk was interesting. The spa facilities were tidy and decent. Worth a look

Interactive tour guide

Great experience!
Enjoyed the walk around the thermal valley and also the spa and mud bath after that. Staff was very friendly and customer focused. Lovely experience!

Really good and different
Its so different and beautiful as I have never seen such a thing before in my life. Walk is really nice covering forest, waterfall and open warm lakes, mud volcano and steaming cliffs. Great to got a good deal with spa, though there where tiny flies and insects in the pool. Shower rooms are too good and well maintained. The only thing I don't like is a $1 for a tiny tomato sauce sachet hehe, please give it for free.
