I have heard ravings about this dolphin swim tour and i knew i have to give it a go. True enough, it matches my expectation. In fact, the whole experience exceeded my expectation. Discovery took care of its participants from the moment they stepped in to fill-in the safety form until they are back to land. The whole experience is so surreal. No words can describe the feeling of swimming with 100-150 dolphins and watch them in their moment at close proximity. Thank you Discovery for making one of my dream come true.

It's such a cliché, but this was one of the most magical experiences of our time in New Zealand and one of the most amazing things i've done in my 23 years on earth so far! I've been swimming with dolphins before, but it was nothing like this - there were so many dolphins to swim with on this trip and they were all so curious that they came right up to us and made eye contact with us! Definitely a must-do if you're in the region :)

Really cool! The dusky dolfins are beautiful and there are hundreds of them swimming all around you. They come really close (20-30cm.) But they swim always around you, they never hit you. You have to make a lot of noise to attract their attention, once you have it you can swim with them in circles! They were very active and playful, we saw a lot of jumps and blackflips! Though you have to take in account there wild animals, sometimes there interested and sometimes their not and they can swim away. As the dolpin encouter states, it's a privilege to swim with them not a right..it's their choice!

It was. Great, and really impressive. So many dolphins surounding us when swimming. And when watching they did amaizing jumps, we dir not know where to watch. Thank you to the team who was nice funny and really helpful. I recommande that activity.

We had a very nice time during the dolphin encounter. The staff is really enthousiastic and friendly. They try to find you the best fitting wetsuit and flippers, take you to the boat, look for dolphins all the way and once they found them, you really get time to prepare yourself before you jump in the water. A fantastic experience follows. After 3 times in the water, you can warm yourself with a nice cup of hot chocolate and cookies. They even have blankets on the boat and hot water 'showers'. There are not enough adjectives to describe how wonderful our experience was. From the moment we arrived until the second we left, the staff were friendly and helpful and just as excited as we were by the experience. The conditions were perfect and we spent the whole time in the water surrounded by very friendly dolphins.

I'm not normally one much for tours, but I whole-heartedly recommend this one. The boat crew were friendly, informative, and extremely gracious when some of our group struggled with bouts of sea-sickness. We were fortunate to find a pod of 200 dolphins and although water visibility was poor it was an incredible experience to be in the water amongst them. Definitely worth doing in Kaikoura. The main check-in area could use some better organisation, but that's the only negative mark on an otherwise 5-star operation.
