Fully recommended

This tour was really good, really interesting and the guide really nice. You learn a lot about the city, the earthquakes and the life in Christchurch. You have a lot of explanations but it's not boring at all. I recommend this tour for everyone!

Christchurc 3 hour tour

Friendly, informative and the fact that the guide was local and had lived through the earthquake experience was humbling and made the experience that much more real.

Tour Christchurch

Very interesting. Sadly, the traces of the destructive earthquake are still painfully visible .However, Christchurch is full of magnificent gardens all over the city. Splendid views from the top of the mountain over the city. Sumner is also very beautiful to visit

Double Decker

Very informative tour of the centre of Christchurch. The Mona Vale estate is one area that you can explore. Then the Cashmere hills is a fantastic spot for a panoramic view of Christchurch. Sumner Bay beach is the final destination before heading back after the THREE hour tour. Incredibly informative guide

Worthwhile experience

An intersting look at Christchurch "now". Driver/guide very knowledgeable and willing to share this information. I also appreciated the positive attitude that Christchurch will be better after the rebuild.

Perfect way to see Christchurch

Joined the 2pm 3 hour tour for our first glimpse of the city and surrounds. The old London double decker open top bus was a treat in itself. Our guide Steve was both knowledgeable and entertaining and we were blessed with a glorious sunny afternoon. The first hour of the trip takes you around the cordoned area and exposes you to the sad devastation of what must once have been a beautiful city. Then transfer to another double decker for 2 hours going to the outskirts and hills. This has 2-3 stops for walks, sightseeing, food and drink, so some nice flexibility. All up a great way to see what Christchurch has to offer and to relax at the same time.

Great tour of Christchurch

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The open top bus trip around the central area was very enlightening as this was our first trip to Chch since the Feb 2011 quake. Also enjoyed the visit to Mona Vale, the sign of Takahe and Sumner. Great commentary throughout.

great one day in Christchurch option

Did the 3 hours tour of the city. Had just one day in Christchurch so wanted to get a general overview. Pick up and drop off location allowed us to do other quality activities at either end of tour. Pros : Perfect pace and combination of driving and walking. Informative and entertaining Guide. Cons :(why we did not rate as Excellent): Bus did not provide the same level of comfortable as a modern coach. Guide had moments of unclarity

Very good

Myself, my wife and two adult children thoroughly enjoyed this very informative and sobering trip through the streets of Christchurch. It was amazing to see the extent of damage left two years after the last major earthquake hit. Our hosts were very knowledgable without being boring.

Awesome! Coming back to see how things progress

Well, What a great experience, and certainly an unexpected one. One of the best, bus tours I have been on. A very knowledgeable guide, and plenty of time to soak up what is and what is going to be a fantastic city. I am looking forward to come back in several years time and do a comparison between post earthquake 1 year and post earthquake 4 to 6 years. Ice creams at the beach stop were fantastic. A really great way to kill several hours before you sit and wait for the plane to go home. Great views, Great stories, Great History, and Great Price thanks Bookme. Simon Hall

Great Experience

We really enjoyed the "Double Decker Bus" experience. The commentary was very informative, the driver very nice and helpful and the route taken was a good overall view of Christchurch. However, the bus needs a bit of attention, or maybe a new one would be good! Apart from that a very good day out. Thanks.
