Join Barbary's 5pm cruise to the Maori Rock Carvings and you're in for a real treat. Sail on a noise-free, eco-friendly restored 1920's yacht along Taupo's most beautiful bays. Marvel at the Maori Rock Carvings basking in the evening sun while you enjoy a glass of wine or beer.
The Maori Rock Carvings are one of Taupo's must-see attractions. Located on a stone cliff face over the crystalline waters of Mine Bay, the carvings are only accessible by boat. Resembling the remains of ancient Maori civilization, they were created in the late 70s by a group of artists led by artist John Randall and reach a height of over 10 metres!
During the 2.5 hour cruise you'll learn some of Lake Taupo's history as you, take in the panoramic beauty that surrounds you while relaxing in a comfy bean bag. For a more hands-on experience you can help take the helm or trim the sails. Then it's time to enjoy a gourmet BBQ as the evening breeze picks up after a hot summer's day.
