Nice walk, some great views and good crew

Even thought the weather wasn’t great (high winds on the coast) and we couldn’t do the entire journey to the north of the National park, it was still a nice journey on the modern boat. The staff helped explain everything really well and the commentary was good. The walks are very well signposted and not too demanding. We decided on the tour up to Tonga Quarry beach with the walk down to Medlands Beach. They allow ample time for you to walk between the drop off and pickup points (maybe a little too long if you don’t plan on having a dip). This route takes you high up into the forest following the sea along on your left. After a decent incline you begin to descend down into Bark Bay around 35mins after you begin the walk. Bark Bay is absolutely gorgeous with its water falls and swing bridge along the high tide path. You will also find basic toilets at the beginning and end of this route. It’s a good day out that we would highly recommend to anybody with the interest of walking a section of Abel Tasman without feeling rushed.

Better to boat than trek

Great way to see the Abel Tasman coast without walking all the way. Did a short bay to bay amble. Recommend

It was indeed a great day out

Only comment would be that we had trouble hearing the commentary from the outside seats on the way out - the speaker had a very soft voice. On the way back it was someone different and easier to hear everything. Otherwise fantastic

Day lost

We did this trip late august. The boat goes stright to the end of the park and stops a couple of times. We saw some seals and birds, not much, aside of that the trip is not worth. The walk is though the forest with no views of the coast. The forest is not impressive, there are other places with nicer forest. I will not recommend this trip, i feel i just waste a day of vacations in nz. Wilson stuff were very friendly and provided explanations during the trip.

Ok

It was nice day trip. You cruise coast area until Totaranui bay then come back to Tonga Quarry. On the way, you’ll see split apple rock and Tonga island to see seals. You walk between Tonga Quarry and Medlands beach. I was disappointed a bit because this track for 2hrs for average person but have to wait 1.5hrs for do nothing. I recommend to bring togs and swim while you wait for ferry.
