    Olveston Historic Home

I have lived in Dunedin for over 20 years and have never visited Olveston before. I was completely blown away by how amazing the home was. The tour guide was fabulous and offered loads of interesting information. I can't believe we have this amazing treasure in our city and that I didn't know about it. I will be telling all my friends that they should put this on their agenda. Very impressed and will definitely be back. Thanks

A place must not be missed

If you've got only 1 hour free time in Dunedin, you must visit this house. I was astonished with the design of the house and collections inside. It's truly amazing!

    History at its finest

Our tour was amazing. House is truly a gem. In the middle of Dunedin and our tour was informative and gave us a real look at the family and life back then. My 11 year old found this really interesting. Great job those of you who keep this history for us to enjoy.

    Olveston Historic Home

As I live in Dunedin and had a friend from Auckland visiting, we decided to take a tour through Olveston Historic Home. I had been through years ago, but wanted to show my friend. What a treat! We were both fascinated and thrilled with the home itself and the treasures on display. Everything is in immaculate condition and the guide was extremely well informed and able to answer any questions. She was very friendly and relaxed and made the tour most enjoyable. Staff on the front desk were also excellent even under the pressure of several bus loads of visitors. I will be taking any future visitors for a guided tour of Olveston. It is one of Dunedin's 'must see's'.

    Could have stayed all day

Sooooo much to look at & we love that the tourists are confined to guided tours only. Plenty of art & artifacts, so much to look at, so little time. Very lovingly preserved. If you enjoy history & historic places you will not be disappointed!! It's the sort of place you can revisit & see something you may have missed last time. We will definitely be back!
