You can also try the fine cuisine served in the maritime-themed Chartroom Restaurant, open for breakfast daily and open for dinner from October to April. Relax with a drink at the Boatshed Bar, with views over the charming harbour. Open seasonally from October to April; currently closed for winter. Edit Picton lies just a short distance outside Picton city centre. A kilometre away you can catch the scenic TranzCoastal railway, running down to Christchurch - a great way to see dolphins and whales in their natural habitat.
