Hire a kayak and paddle in paradise with a full day freedom kayak rental!

Your adventure begins at 9am and following a 15 minute safety briefing you’ll be on the water in no time and experiencing true freedom and the tranquillity of stunning Abel Tasman National Park.

Journey from the beautiful Coquille Bay and then discover the amazing coastline of Apple Tree and Still Well bays encountering some big sea caves before you go around yellow point, up to Watering Cove.

Then the most popular option is to walk 15mins up the hill to enjoy spectacular views over Anchorage and have lunch.

Take your pick over a number of stunning golden sand beaches to relax on before returning past Adel Island encountering the fur seals along the way and at fishermen island you may be lucky enough to see a penguin.

You need to return to Marahau by 5:00pm

Your kayak comes with adjustable back supports, dry bags, paddle, a PFD and we also have a few wetsuits and booties if needed.

Single kayakers must be experienced and use a leg rope

Minimum 12 years, under the age of 16 you need to be accompanied by an adult

Meet the team at Sand Spit Car Park opposite 179 Sandy Bay-Marahau Rd, Marahau. This is the first car park on you right as you drive into Marahau.

Please Note: This is an unguided rental. Kayaking is an adventure activity that is not without some risk please check the weather forecast as this activity has weather constraints. Abel Tasman SUP Sit on Kayaks assumes no responsibility for personal injury or any other losses which may arise from participation. Any costs associated with damage to equipment, or assistance services required, e.g water taxis, will be passed on to the hirer.

Bus transfers, pick up and drop off services are not included
If you are one person traveling on your own we may hire you a kayak for the period providing you are experienced and you use the leg rope. We prefer to use double kayaks because we have limited numbers of single Kayaks we try to keep them for occasions where there are 1, 3, 5 persons etc. The single Kayaks are lot harder because in the double you have twice the horse power and the doubles carry momentum much better.
