A tick on the bucket list

A fabulous day trip offering an insight to a part of NZ that few get to see. Kirsten, our tour guide, was energetic and full of enthusiasm to ensure we all got to see everything this unusual habitat had to offer. It was hard to imagine how 6.5 hrs on a tour bus was going to stay interesting but you are off and on so often that time flies by and the end comes too quickly! You dont need to be an avid bird watcher to be in awe of the beauty- Kersten will ensure you know what you are seeing and provide a fullfilling experience of NZ nature. A definite tick on the bucket-list.

Very special place, great tour

What a privilege to be able to go into such a unique and special place and see why it is so protected. I learned so much about this beautiful area of New Zealand. Our guide Pino's passion for the place and its ecosystem is infectious. The entire tour was fascinating.

Informative, comfortable trip

My partner and I are retired Science teachers, and really appreciated Murray's knowledge and expertise in regards to the scientific aspects of the trip. He presented the information via anecdotes, and involved his passengers where possible. We finished the trip knowing a lot more about the geological history, and ecological and social developments of the Spit. The 7 hours we spent on the trip didn't seem to be too long, although passengers not as interested in the science and history may find it a bit tiring.

Bucket list heaven

What a fabulous trip! Elaine kept us laughing the whole way and is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and of the types of birds. Very good value for money and it was more than just a tour to the Spit. The scenery is just unbelievable. Lots of opportunities to stretch your legs so that you're not stuck in a bus for 6 hrs. Would highly recommend!
