Amazing experience with some wonderful memories

We had an absolutely thrilling experience when we took the Kaiteriteri Kayak tour in Abel Tasman. We got lucky as we were the only ones who booked that day (as we were close to Christmas), and got a private tour from our wonderful guides - Dan and Meg. They made sure that we enjoyed the experience, pushed us only as hard as we wanted, and kept us well fed as well :). We kayaked the seas, saw lots of seals (one even hunting an eel), learnt the history of the park, fought against the winds and did everything an adventurous nature trip could give us! It was just amazing and worth it.

Daniel is a genius

Daniel took us 5 on the Astrolabe kayak trip. 6 hours total including 5 hours kayaking, fur seals, gorgeous birds, history lessons about New Zealand, and a delicious lunch on our own beach... We had an amazing time and that was thanks to Daniel. I highly recommend it.

Dolpins, Seals, a Penguin, & local insights

Krystal was my tour guide for this awesome kayak trip from Anchorage Harbor to Kaiteriteri. She had a lot of insights about local plants and the Maori history of the region, and we were lucky to see dolpins while kayaking next to Adele Island. Two weeks ago I did an overnight kayak trip of Doubtful Sound, and I far preferred kayaking Abel Tasman even though the weather was great in both locations. If you’re going to do an overnight trip, do that at Abel Tasman since the beaches are better and there are few sandflies compared to the West Coast. Personally, the day trip provided plenty of scenery and it was so nice to take a shower afterwards, so I think a day trip makes more sense than overnight camping unless you are in New Zealand for 2+ months.

Perfect moment in abel tasman NP. The guide (jack?) was really really friendly and knows a lot about the area. Every beach another story. We saw seals, dolphins, starfish and lots of birds. We had a great time.
