Abel Tasman

We started the day with an unguided 3.5 hour walk along the coast. Beautiful scenery, but it was quite tiring towards the end, pretty flat all the way though. We then had a picnic lunch on the beach which was provided by our kayaking guide. We were briefed on how to kayak and then we were off! Was really nice to be able to kayak around and see the sea lions, as well as some babies. Quite a tiring day, I certainly slept well after. But definitely worth it.

Excellent

Got an upgrade to the Anchorage to Torrent Bay/Onetahuti Bay kayak trip with Georgia. Excellent Kayaking despite swells. Georgia guided us through the rocks with confidence where possible for some extra thrills and was knowledgeable with Māori heritage if the Abel Tasman Park. I was delighted by baby puppy seals in front/next to our Kayaks, the stunning color of the water and the delicious carrot cake for desert! We had to shortcut the trip in the end as a few people got seasick unfortunately. Would have loved to circle tonga island at the finish. Jack our skipper was super knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly as well and showed us some more puppy seals at Adele island on the way back. The only thing to critizise: Dolphins and Wales didn’t pick up when our guides called them to show up ;) Thanks for an excellent day out in the waters of Abel Tasman !
