Beautiful Track!

I had done a few walks on Abel Tasman but so far this has been one of the best ones I did. We took our two year old son with us on this 3.5 hours walk one way. The trail was really good with really great views! Of course the weather contributed a lot as we did it on a sunny but cool day. I recommend this to those who wants to see Abel Tasman in a day and would like to enjoy a few hours sitting by the beach and just take in all its beauty. Overall, the staff and crew were very helpful and we cannot wait to come back soon to try camping.

The perfect day trip

From checking in at Wilson’s at Kaiteriteri-Sandy beach to returning back it was a wonderful day trip. The itinerary gave you 5 hrs to complete the walk to get back in time for your boat home. That is plenty of time for a 11.5 k walk/ hike. We are fit 28/30 year olds but we walked very slowly through the Tasman taking in the sunshine, surroundings and sounds of the birds and water . Was just perfect . Highly recommend

A great day trip .

We chose the most beautiful day to take this cruise and walk . The boat and crew are fantastic ,good viewing from inside and cosy blankets to keep the cold out.Interesting commentary ,even for us,as locals. The walk was a good stretch in an area of the Park I had not been through before. Although midwinter and cold with rain the previous days, the track was easy and though muddy in parts it was not a problem. There was plenty of time for an average walker to get from the drop off point at Medlands Beach to the pickup at Anchorage with time to sit on the beach and soak up some sunshine.

Good service

Wilson's provided a good service transporting walkers to various starting points on the Abel Tasman walk. Being the beginning of May and the off-season the boat was not crowded but busy enough not to be deserted which was great. The track itself is a pleasant walk but apart from the beaches and bays it is not the most stunning NZ bush walk. The walk from Torrent Bay to Anchorage was the nicest section so if you take the low tide shortcut then you will miss the best part of this particular walk.
