Gorgeous day in the Abel Tasman

We were fortunate enough to see a pod of dolphins and fur seals.

Stunning

A fantastic day out from start to finish - outstanding staff who couldn't do enough for you. Made me proud to be a kiwi seeing such a slick operation showing off our beautiful country and giving everyone an outstanding experience.

Perfect day trip

If you only have one day in the Abel Tasman National Park, then this is the perfect activity for you. You get a bit of everything: get up close to Split Apple Rock, a seal colony, information about the area, a cruise, a walk and a swim. The track was nice and easy. It took us around 1h40 to reach Bark Bay. The pick up point, Medlands beach, was only 500m away so we had loads of time to relax, eat some lunch and enjoy the scenery. Unfortunately, we weren't able to swim because the water was just too cold. But overall, it was very worth it!

Do it

Loved the walk from Tonga Quary to Medlands Beach (about 2hour (with lots of stops for photos)). Beach at Medlands is amazing (clear water). I went for a swim in April (chilly but so worth it - would of regreted if I didn’t). Boat ride its self was informative (told us about the history of the area as well as announced who was due to get off at each stop).
