    Suzanne_Fane said... Tour guide Mike met us at the CBD meeting point & escorted us in his van for the next few hours. He showed us Pupuke Crater Lake, Coastal Lava Walk, North Head Volcano & Tunnels, Mt Victoria Volcano Auckland is situated at a volcanic landscape. These tours are a must-see which helps the visitor learn & understand its environmental history & how it affected life, before and now. Former military areas at North Head Volcano was most interesting. Military took advantage of these mounds & built artillery areas with lookouts during wars of previous times. For me personally, the most exciting & appreciative aspect of this tour was to walk on hardened lava.
