Amuri Jet in Hanmer Springs has taken thousands of visitors through the magnificent Waiau River and weaved them through the narrow gorge and braided river bed getting close to rocks and cliff faces.
Take a look at the rivers amazing marble rock formations and keep an eye out for the trout and salmon that cruise past in the rivers crystal clear waters. Don’t forget your camera as there will be some incredible landscapes to capture along the 24km route including beautiful canyons and surrounding mountain views.

I was greeted exceptionally well by the office staff, which significantly enhanced my morning experience. The jet boat driver demonstrated remarkable expertise, akin to a Formula 1 professional, ensuring my safety throughout the journey. We executed numerous 360-degree spins, and the driver frequently paused to provide detailed explanations of the surroundings and the jet boat's operation. This was not merely an exhilarating ride but also an incredibly informative experience, as the driver dedicated time to act as a comprehensive tour guide.

So much better than the alternatives
We had a brilliant time with Amuri and Dan at the helm. 1 hour of sheer excitement and possibly the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Shotover would have been a 15 minute ride (we had booked there but missed our slot, our fault), we therefore visited Hanmer Springs. Would do it again in a heartbeat
