Weka Pass Horse Treks is nestled amongst beautiful farmland less than an hour from Christchurch city ,and 40 - 45 minutes form Hanmer Springs. They provide top-notch tutors and guides, to give you a fun, safe trekking environment for you, family and friends.
Enjoy some of the finest views of rural New Zealand over the Waikari Valley, tussock country and spectacular rock formations. Maori rock art, steeped in history and tradition is available to view on your trek.
Our horses are friendly with good manners, and each rider is matched with a horse to suit their ability and experience.

1 hour trek
Excellent morning doing the 1 hour trek. Fun thing to do with all the family on the way to Hanmer. Beautiful countryside, Maori rock art, very friendly and experienced guides and lovely well behaved horses for first time riders.

Fantastic family experience
We went on the 1hr trek and had a great time. Scenery was fantastic. None of us had any experience with riding horses so it was great to have horses that were so calm and friendly. Our guides Jane and Melissa were terrific. Highly recommended!

Highlight of our trip!
My friends and I had such a lovely time on this tour. The horses were very well behaved and we felt safe at all times (given that it was all of our first time riding). Melissa was very patient with us and was more than happy to answer all of our questions and not to mention.. help take many photos of us! Thank you Melissa and Rachael for a great day today - we all can't stop raving about how much fun we had!
