Their underwater antics and natural curiosity will leave you with a renewed appreciation for these fun loving creatures.
The full length wetsuits provided will help keep you warm and also provide the same buoyancy as a life jacket so you don't have to be a confident swimmer or snorkeler. Our knowledgeable crew have been guiding travellers here since 1987. It will feel good to know that you have the world's most experienced guides with you, to answer questions, teach you how to snorkel and even hold your hand if you want! It won't take long for them to build your confidence!
The pristine bays of the stunning Kaikoura Peninsula is where you'll be taken on the short boat trip and with the beautiful Coastal Kaikoura Rangers as a back drop you'll spend up to an hour swimming and getting to know these playful puppy dogs of the sea. Alternatively, you can stay on the boat and watch others entertain the seals.
You'll need to allow around 2.5 hours for the tour.
This tour is highly recommended, has received numerous awards as has even been featured on the Getaway Travel Show. It really is a Must Do for your New Zealand travels.
We had a fantastic experience, with many fur seals amazingly close. Really nice staff and excellent quality gear. We all loved it!!
Amazing, I saw so many seals they were in the water all around us playing, washing and swimming it was incredible. I felt really safe and they do not entice the animals with things like food which is great the seals are just jumping in and swimming around you of their own accord. I would do it agin in a heart beat. Just booked on a whim because my partner was going on a fishing trip so glad I did , it was a bargain for the experience !!
Couldn’t recommend this trip or the company more, truly an awesome experience, wish we could do another right away! Really knowledgeable and doing things responsibly. So many seals, so close and happy to check you out at really close range.
Friendly and accommodating operators that deliver on what they promise. Got to see a number of fur seals up close and personal. Guide was informative and well-humoured. Would recommend!

Awesome
Fantastic adventure. The team is very helpful and the guide loves his job and is very respectful of wildlife. We were just 6 on the boat and spent more than one hour in water, swimming with seals. Do it!!
