Scenic Whale Watching Flight - From the Air, you get the Highest chances to see the whales!
Enjoy a panoramic Whale flight, with stunning scenic views along the spectacular Kaikoura coastline.
View the magnificent Sperm whale in their natural environment. Only from the air do you get to appreciate the full size of the mighty sperm whale.
You also get the chance to see dusky dolphins and other marine life on your flight. After we have found whales we will take you on a scenic flight of Kaikoura and the stunning surrounds that include the high Alpine snow clad Kaikoura mountains, and to the east the deep blue Pacific ocean.
Air Kaikoura is a small friendly business which also provides flight training and all our pilots are flight instructors. Our team is enthusiastic about providing our customers with a magical experience of a life time. No guarantees are possible but we have a very high success rate of 95% and are very honest about the chances of finding whales. By booking one of our extended whale flights with us your chances go up dramatically!

Excellent operator
The staff were excellent and although we didn’t see any whales we did see a large pod of dolphins. Would definitely recommend this company

Thanks for choosing to fly with us and we appreciate your understanding of working with wild animals. While we do our best to keep track of the whale movements and diving patterns, they don't always work into our schedule and can pull out unpredictable behaviour. We are glad you still got to see our playful dusky dolphins, and enjoyed the beautiful Kaikoura views!

An amazing and worthwhile experience!
Unfortunately, our first flight had to be cancelled after 10 minutes due to sudden fog in which the pilots are not permitted to fly. However, we were offered immediately a refund or rebooking and decided to rebook and managed to got a slot on the same day. We saw lots of dolphins and a humpback whale, which we loved! Just the views of the coast were already amazing and we can recommend this 100%. The staff were lovely and we were glad we chose this experience.
