Lord of the Rings "Edoras Tour" - Full Day Tour
Journey to the remote and beautiful Mt Potts high country station, home of Mt Sunday.

- Exciting 4WD adventure through several small streams and right onto Edoras itself.
- Take a short guided walk to stand on the summit of Edoras and enjoy as Eowyn did, the breathtaking 360º views.
- See the Misty Mountains and the area that formed the backdrop to Helms Deep.
- Handle movie replicas – Aragorn’s Sword, King Theoden’s Sword, Gimli’s Axe and Flag of Rohan.
This peaceful mountain was transformed into Edoras, the capital city of the Rohan people in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Immerse yourself in the natural unspoilt beauty of this location with it's sparkling clear lakes, glistening blue rivers, rugged mountain ranges and fresh crisp mountain air. You don't have to be a Lord of the Rings fan to enjoy this amazing day out.
The High Country scenery and lakes are simply magnificent!
Duration: 8.5 hours from Christchurch or 5.5 hours from Methven.
Product extras: Lord of the Rings souvenirs available for purchase as a reminder of your journey into Middle Earth.
Pickup location: Pick up from most central hotels/motels in Christchurch by arrangement from 8.30am or meet us outside Canterbury Museum, Rolleston Avenue at 9.00am. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior.
If you are located in Methven, we can pick you up from Methven i-SITE at 10.45am, please select this option as you proceed to checkout. Please meet 10 minutes prior to departure.

We had a rainy grey day when we set out. The tour guide Maria had a fantastic positive attitude that made our journey to mt Sunday sunny and bright. She had great energy and we had so much fun. The day brightened as we proceeded to the bottom of mt Sunday and by the time we were at the top we had blue skies & sunshine peeking through the cloud. We got the best of both worlds with some moody mountains with low cloud and then sunshine and blue skies with snow capped mountain views. So fun and stunning scenery.

J’ai passé une excellente journée en Terre du Milieu grâce à notre guide : Chris. J’ai appris plus sur la Nouvelle-Zélande en une journée qu’en six mois : chapeau ! J’ai pourtant visité tous les musées d’Auckland, le Te Papa à Wellington et le Canterbury museum, autrement dit j’avais déjà quelques connaissasnes. Bref je recommande 😉
