To appreciate the beauty and scale of the Mt Cook National park and the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers, there is nothing better than seeing it from the air. The Grand Traverse is a magnificent flight encompassing 200 km of New Zealand's highest mountains and largest glaciers.

Highlights Include:

Stunning turquoise glacial lakes, golden tussock lands and the braided river systems of the Mackenzie basin

Remote high country sheep stations, glacial valleys and landforms

Aoraki Mount Cook National Park - a magical world of permanent ice and snow

New Zealand's highest mountains and largest glaciers - including Aoraki Mount Cook and the Tasman Glacier

The Westland Tai Poutini National Park including Franz Josef and Fox glaciers

Throughout the winter, view for yourself the dazzling scenery of fresh snow on the Southern Alps, in glacial valleys and a more visible ice-carved landscape

Approximately 50 minutes flying time (please allow 1hr total duration)

Every passenger has a window seat, and all aircraft have "wings above" to ensure optimum viewing below. Pilots provide an informative in-flight commentary, dedicated to providing an excellent passenger experience every time.

Grandioser Rundflug

Wir haben die Grand Traverse ab Lake Tekapo gebucht. Tom war ein sehr erfahrener Pilot, der alles ausführlich kommentiert hat. Wir hatten super Wetter und kaum Wolken, so dass wir die Gletscher, Seen und Mount Cook aus nächster Nähe sehen könnten. Wir wurden auf eine andere Uhrzeit umgebucht, was aber für uns kein Problem. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Ein super nettes Team, wir wurden sogar angerufen und gefragt, ob wir lieber an einem anderen Tag als dem vorhergesehenen fliegen möchten, da an dem Tag schlechtes Wetter vorausgesagt war! Der Flug war ein Traum!
