What a wonderful day we had at Orana Park. We went on a sunny Tuesday. We arrived at 10 and followed the keepers as they did their feeding rounds. Loved all the extra information they gave about the animals behaviour and diet. Fascinating. The Orana Park Volunteers are a wealth of knowledge also. So many stories and interesting facts. The park is well set out over a large area- so the animals have maximum space to roam. The ride on buggy that tours the park constantly was very helpful for my 90 year old Dad. It meant we saw Everything in the park. Before we knew it, it was closing time! It had been a full day of learning and new experiences. Highly recommended Orana Park as the best day out for every age. Highlights were feeding the giraffes, watching the gorillas, seeing kiwis, the size of the porcupines... in fact , there are So many highlights. You will just have to go there yourself and decide what is Your best experience. Orana Park is Awesome. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit so memorable.
There was a reasonable range of animals, however, even with being a spacious outdoor area a vaccine pass is required.
Thank you for your feedback. As a conservation focused organisation, an internal risk assessment was undertaken to ensure the best possible decision for the welfare of our precious animals, people and visitors.
We did enjoy our day here with our toddler. It is a bit run down though. It had rain that morning and there were big puddles everywhere, especially the barnyard for farm animals. A bit of sand would do the trick. We loved the giraffes and feeding them!! The meerkats, keas and porcupines were great too. The volunteer guides were super awesome. I think the lions and cheetahs were a bit sad looking, but seeing the gorillas last was a bit of a let down. They looked bored and depressed. I know the park gives them lots of things to do, but I think they are too much like humans and dont like to be contained and on display. The other apes seemed all good. I think Orana park needs to consolidate what they have, so they can make it awesome. Send the Gorillas back to Africa. Cafe was great!
