Best day ever

This tour seriously needs to be done by everyone in NZTA It was done in such a friendly professional manner from the time you enter the whale watch building to boarding the bus to the boat and back again. Very strong on safety which is a must considering how fast the boat goes. We had an awesome narrator who joked around but also answered any queries with enthusiasm. Captain and rest of the staff were also great with giving clear and concise instructions We saw a hector dolphin which is rare and dusky dolphins and two amazing sperm whales Well done Kaikoura whale watch

We had a whale of a time!

This experience was one of the best of my life!!! It blew our expectations for sure and the marine life really put on a show for us! Can’t believe we can say that we’ve smelt the breath of a humpback whale!!! How cool is that?! Would absolutely recommend! The staff on board were all amazing also and made the trip fun and even more exciting! Loved every minute!

whale oiled machine

These guys know their stuff, they have a slick operation and what is clearly a commitment to sustainability and being good custodians of the environment. We had a wonderful time and saw two different whales. One thing of note however was the quick cigarette a staff member had before departing saw a carelessly disposed butt (whether or not it was a roll your own or actual butt I couldn't say) on the ground. The optics of which wasn't great and went at odds with the image so carefully curated of the business and the very hard work they so obviously do to make this experience an excellent one. Luckily, that's a very easy fix.
