The mountains looked just as spectacular if not more spectacular from ground level on a hike, and it being summer, the "snow" landing was a disappointment. There was barely a patch of tired half melted snow for the pilot to land on since the glacier where they normally land was covered in cloud. None of this was the company's fault - they did as best as they can given circumstances. In future I wouldn't pay the price tag unless it was winter and there was heavy snowfall and clear skies. I'd say this experience is worth perhaps NZ $120 as we saw it.
