Criterion Hotel Bar & Eatery

The Criterion Bar Hotel and Eatery is the jewel in the crown in the Victorian precinct in Omarau. This Landmark Hotel is about to open its doors again. The emphasis will be on food and giving diners a good experience. Lunches, coffee, drinks and evening meals will be available and boutique accommodation would be provided upstairs. The formal dining room will be “an oasis of calm”, featuring white tablecloths and elegant furnishings. To the rear of the ground floor will be a large sitting room with an air of a gentleman’s club, with armchairs grouped for relaxing conversations.The snug, tucked in behind the bar, will be a “temperance room” where guests could partake of non-alcoholic drinks and in summer months the courtyard will have outdoor dining facing Harbour St.
