We kayaked at a leisurely pace to just past Pilots beach, where the little blue penguins come ashore at dusk, up to where there was a shag breeding colony. The guide pointed out an albatross on its nest, but it was high up, so effectively it was a white blob. Some shags came flying very low by. Quite a few seals on the rocks & one lolling about in seaweed. We actually saw one of the little blue penguins on the way back and also a big stingray just under us in the shallows. Tea & cake in the adjoining roadside café afterwards. Excellent afternoon.
