We had a confirmed booking at Momentos By the Lake, but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed due to a staff Christmas party.
There is no issue with a restaurant holding a staff event. However, it is not acceptable to continue taking bookings when the restaurant is already scheduled to be closed. No notification or communication was provided in advance, and we only discovered this upon arrival.
As visitors on holiday in Queenstown, we had planned our evening around this reservation. The lack of basic communication resulted in unnecessary inconvenience and disappointment, and it negatively impacted our holiday experience.
This situation could have been easily avoided with proper booking management and customer consideration.
