Embark on our original Kayak Classic adventure a bit later in the day to enjoy Lake Mapourika's unbeatable sunset.
3 hours of gentle exercise and an unbeatable panoramic view of the Southern Alps and glaciers. A premium tour only available during the summer months. This is the best way to end your day in Glacier Country!
Please note that on rare occasions not withstanding all reasonable efforts by the operator, this trip may be shifted in time due to weather and or on rare occasions may be cancelled. In this event a 100% full refund will be offered.
Please also note that the sunset departure times range between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. Please call or email us the night before to check the current Sunset Classic departure times. We change these times to catch the sunsets as daylight hours change.

Miss
I fully enjoy this pleasure kayak guided tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly They provided a thorough safety briefing before we started, which made me feel comfortable, even as a beginner. Throughout the tour, they shared fascinating facts about the local wildlife, geography, and history of the area, making the journey educational as well as fun.

Top Experience
2 nice and super friendly guides who showed us the beauty of this outstanding landscape and told us about the nature and the lake. Recommend the sunset tour, because the glaciers are fully in sunlight. You can enjoy the peace on the lake aswell!

Hands down the best experience
Absolutely loved my time kayaking in the mapourika lake with Franz Joseph Wilderness! Extremely professional and capable individuals, superb gear and equipment. Marcel, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Also clicked great photos of ours which they emailed to us for free. 10/10 would recommend if you're in Franz or Fox.
