The trip over by the ferry was interesting. A few stops at various docks, dropping off and picking up. Clear informative commentary. Its been 34yrs since I last visited Kawau Island. A lot of changes. Most of the pines were gone, replaced with scrub and weeds in many places. Scars of past storms still clearly visible. The erosion of Ladies Bay was particularly devastating with the beach non existent .. just fenced off cliffs. Lots of felled trees. Some tracks still closed. Sir George Grey's mansion no longer pristine, alot of his rare plantings have disappeared. Inside the mansion still looked very authentic. In spite of the changes I still enjoyed the visit and recommend it
Well worth the trip 👌
Well worth doing as no other way to see Kawau unless you are a boatie. Glad I didn't stay there as there is nothing there!! Mansion visit and optional times were really good. Skipper took us through the waves easily. Everything ran right on time!
Lovely day trip, amazing staff
