We had the best time white water rafting. Thank you Kaitiaki Adventures. So much fun and our guide Reiya was fantastic. He was so helpful and interesting and made us feel comfortable and safe and helped us have a really great time. Highly recommend!!
Best time rafting ever and we did a lot of rafting in Europe, the states etc. Conner was an amazing guide, was a lot of fun on the water. Would recommend 100%
We had an amazing time rafting with Rafting Rotorua! I went with my son, and it was such a fun and memorable experience for both of us. Kyle was absolutely fantastic — he took great care of everyone on the raft, making sure we all felt safe, confident, and included. His instructions were clear, his energy was positive, and he really made the whole trip enjoyable. It was exciting, well organised, and perfect for families. We were smiling the whole way through and will definitely remember this experience for a long time. Highly recommend!
Our guide Connor went above and beyond to make this experience exciting! I didn’t know what to expect if our raft will flip on the water fall but I tried to remember the instructions they gave us. When it happened, I exactly did what I was told even though I was so scared of drowning. The other boats and guides were there to help rescue. It was so fun and I will do it all over again.

Worth it! (Plus size travel review)
This experience was once in a life time, it was thrilling and scary but incredibly fun. Our guide was Kyle he was funny, informative, and made me feel safe despite me being quite anxious. If there's one thing you do when it rotorua, this is definitely it! Plus size travel/experience tips I include a portion regarding Plus size mobility/fitness levels in reviews as it is one of the harder things to find information about when adventuring. I contacted all 3 white water rafting places in Rotorua as I was near or just above their max weight limits (120-130kgs) Kaitiaki was the most prompt and informative in their responses (through texting their listed number not their query form on their website). When I arrived all their staff and guides were respectful, considerate, and made me feel welcome and comfortable. They use universal sized life-jackets that are relatively free size. You can choose between a wet jacket and wet suit, wetsuits are listed up to 4xl but I opted for a wet jacket which did fit me and I wear a 2xl in women's and all my fat is in my tummy/torso. For any accessibility or accommodation I would reccomend reaching out beforehand and discussing with the guide before going out how ever from a total amateur Plus size participants assessment I would say you definitely need an at least average level of fitness to participate for paddling and to be able to swim a short distance in strong currents in case you get chucked into the river (you will be aided by your lifejacket and a rope if needed) paddling can also be a little hard if you have a big tummy to paddle around but it is doable. My only further reccomendation is wearing shorts, I wore a jacket and bikini bottoms and was afraid that my pants were gonna get blown off in the rapids and this was a fear expressed by multiple of the other women rafting.
