Attracting visitors from all around the world, the Māori Rock Carvings are truly unique and only accessible by water, towering 14-metres above Lake Taupō.
You'll travel aboard the Cruise Cat, a stylish vessel that has been built for comfort offering warm booths and spacious viewing platforms that get you right up next to the scenery.
Enjoy live commentary and a hot beverage and muffin on board, and keep the kids entertained with colouring, a treasure hunt, or even driving the boat if the skipper allows. The afternoon cruise also includes a trout fishing demonstration where you'll also learn about various fishing options on Lake Taupō.

Great intro to the lake!
Busy cruise with a group of Chinese students but the boats a great size and didn't feel too crowded. Beautiful weather and perfect viewing of the rock carving wall. Coffee/ Tea and a yummy blueberry muffin. Was able to reel in a trout which was a fantastic experience. Also a taste of smoked trout on cracker...yum !. Great commentary and friendly staff. Well done guys !.

It felt really good to know about the history of the carvings. They are a true piece of art and culture. It was my first time visiting Taupo and my experience was good with Chris Jolly.

We had an amazing time!
We booked on a Monday and we had the boat to ourselves. The tour guide was sooo nice, friendly and accommodating. The compli hot drinks is okay but the warm muffins was very nice. The guide even had us try some trout and even set up trout fishing for us to try. Service was over and above!
