Stephanie Tam said... I got upgraded to the catamaran the morning of the trip, and the operators were very responsive when I inquired about the schedule. There wasn't enough wind to sail so we had to use the motor, but it was a calm day and the boat is very spacious and well equipped with bean bags to relax in. There are blankets for use inside, comfortable seating inside out of the wind, and they have free water, a hot drink, gingernut cookies, sunscreen and hand sanitizer available. You could also purchase snacks and other drinks on board. The operators were informative and friendly, and the carvings were amazing to see. We anchored near the carvings for guests to swim in the lake. You can jump off the roof of the boat and Lake Taupo has amazingly clear, clean water. The staff even provided towels for guests after the swim. There were two bathrooms on board. It's a wonderful way to spend a morning - highly recommend!
