Allow approximately 5 hours drive time from Queenstown or 3 hours from Te Anau.

Notes

Car parking in Milford Sound is $10 per hour, if parking in the main car park, please allow 10-12 minutes to walk to the terminal. There is free parking in Deepwater Basin, please allow 25-30 minutes to walk to the terminal. If you choose to self-drive, we recommend arriving into Milford Sound at least one hour prior to your scheduled cruise departure to allow sufficient time to find a car park and make your way to the Milford Sound Cruise Terminal. For further information about car parking please visit milfordsountourism.nz/parking

Astounding, the nature boat ride totally great value for money to travel to another planet of sheer craggy cliffs and foggy peaks. Even on a misty grey partly fogged day it was atmospheric, the "nature" part the environment -we didnt see any whales,dolphins or seals in May but I'm sure they bask throughout the year.Commentary was great, 2 hrs of bliss.tx.The drive into Milford Sound adds to a memorable day.Tx NZ!

Well worth it!

Easily the highlight of our whole trip across Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wānaka, and beyond. There’s no comparing to experiencing the beautiful fiords. The drive there is so scenic and yet doesn’t prepare you for seeing the stunning range of peaks, from the cruise. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing experience of a lifetime. The captain and crew were very pleasant and informative. The boat was accomodating with tea and coffee. The captain’s humor was the best part…Glacier facial! lol. You have got to go with southern, The captain is really supportive to get you the best out of this experience . We saw seals, Dolphins and so much knowledge of the mountain peaks and minerals and sea. Greatest experience ever
