We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. Rotorua island is a little jewel and the crew were informative and kind. I recommend this experience!
Crew was very professional , complementing visitors curosity. Boat was in great condition and unforgettable experience.
We didnt see any whales, i think thats something many people have to be clear about that the chance of seeing a whale is very low. But we saw dolphins and penguins. Overall the cruise was good, most parts of information were read out and you could tell that the crew didnt really care about the landscape informations. It kinda felt like a taxi, we were mostly just pciking people up from different islands or drop them off. Only 1 hour of the tour was the actual whale watch safari. Still the scenery was beautiful and so were the dolphins and penguins, but honestly the whale watch tour in kaikoura would have been better
It was ok as we only spotted some dolphins while coming back from the furthest point the cruise could go. We saw 2 whales at some distance, but couldn’t approach them as there is a law that once wildlife is spotted, a cruise can only stay with them for half an hour only. It was more of an island trip as first half day of the trip is related to the island. This is not a purely wildlife cruise. For that, it seemed bit pricey.
