After the briefing, he showed us how the spray skirt and the rudder work, and of course how to get in and out of the kayak. We thought that was important, too. We’ve gone canoeing in the past and used a kayak a few times. But never with a rudder, and it works the opposite of what you’d expect. So it took us a while to get the hang of it. Marcel took his time with all of this. At Apple Rock, he took plenty of time for us to take photos. Afterward, we had lunch with him and a German couple with a child on a tiny beach. It was absolutely great. We had nice conversations about all sorts of things. Then we headed back. A fun half-day. Highly recommended! The information from the base was also excellent. Friendly people.
