We had an amazing time as a family and it is located very near to matakana market so a perfect stop over for quick bite before the visit or after visit. Loved all the sculptures and it is very well maintained, would highly recommend this for a day trip
What I thought will be an outdoor walk with a few sculptures scattered around, turned out to be a pretty mindblowing, visually intense and inspiring joyride. The gardens, hosting tge outdoor sculpture collection are meticulously maintained to perfection, and indoor galleries are jam packed with the extraordinary collections of art, curated with fun and sparkle. It was a real feast for tge eyes, so different from your usual trip to the art gallery innAuckland. Kids loved it too, each armed with a treasure hunt sheet, searching for clues and hidden motives / a cool way to get them actually looking at tge stuff around. Highly recommend in Spring / Summer with all the beautiful flora in tge gardens.
Took my daughter up and really enjoyed the couple of hours we spent together. Well layed out and maintained, enjoyed the Art gallery inside as well. Don't forget to have a Muffin and Coffee before you leave.
We have brought overseas visitors to Sculptureum a number of times. Its a guaranteed good day out. The mix of natural beauty and quirky art is good for everyone's soul. This visit was a Tuesday so the restaurant was closed, but there were lots of options for a good lunch nearby. The staff are always attentive, but leaving space to really enjoy the art, rocks, foliage, inspirational quotes and birds.
