Allow approximately 5 hours drive time from Queenstown or 3 hours from Te Anau.

Notes

Car parking in Milford Sound is $10 per hour, if parking in the main car park, please allow 10-12 minutes to walk to the terminal. There is free parking in Deepwater Basin, please allow 25-30 minutes to walk to the terminal. If you choose to self-drive, we recommend arriving into Milford Sound at least one hour prior to your scheduled cruise departure to allow sufficient time to find a car park and make your way to the Milford Sound Cruise Terminal. For further information about car parking please visit milfordsountourism.nz/parking

Milford Cruise

This was the third time . Earlier two were well over 15 years back. The Cruise was just as awesome and exciting as the earlier times. Though back then, the boat went out of the Sound and turned around in the Tasman swell which was ultra exciting.

The cruise ship had most good seats reserved for people who booked lunch . We didn’t book lunch , so had to sit in a very uncomfortable chair . I had to stand most of the time to get a good view . I mentioned this to a crew member and he said if I didn’t like it , I can disembark and book with someone else . That was vey rude . I advised people not to book with this company . There are many other companies to choose from
