We had a great time in this Dunedin City, Wildlife, and Scenery Tour. Thanks Lucy Young for such an amazing trip! We were expecting that it will be a join in tour in a bus or van but we were surprised when Lucy picked us up in her new Odyssey with just another tourist. So it felt like a private tour. Lucy gave us commentary and information about the places we visited and was flexible in time especially in Sandfly Bay and Tunnel Beach, because of the trek. I highly recommend this tour. ?? Cheers! ??
We really enjoyed our day. Nicely maintained course with excellent views of the coast. The golf pro is very friendly and the clubhouse is nice too.
The guys are very friendly and the equipament awsome.
I managed to stand up, although only very briefly.
Tim was a great, patient teacher and a lot of fun. He came to assist each student individually throughout the lesson. This was our first time surfing and we will definitely be doing it again!
Our instructor was great!! My partner was very hesitant as he's not the biggest fan of the water but at the end of the lesson we couldn't get him out! Would definitely recommend over and over. Will definitely be back :) thanks again Chloe
What a terrific wave!
A fantastic experience!
Ryan was a great instructor who was very friendly and made us feel safe and comfortable. We really enjoyed our lesson!!
The wheather was not good at the moment when I just arrived in the place. But, Dominic who is the instructor of the surfing gave me big welcome then we had some talk. This calm down my tension which was caused by thinking about first learning. Then we went out to the beach. Dominic taught me the few academic lessons then we plunge into the water. 1.5 lesson was gone so faster than nomal time runing. Everything was fantastic and feburous. I'll visit there again soon.
The tour was friendly, informative and fun. This tour is a must do if you are ever in Dunedin. The History and Future Plans are interesting and it makes you feel like part of the story. After you get to have a decent sized taste of all the great beers that Speight's has to offer in the friendliest bar with the best atmosphere you could imagine, watching old movies and talking to the whistling, happy tour guide was a bonus. I would recommend this tour to anyone!!
Awesome tours and awesome hospitality!
Having taken this tour 3 years ago before I moved to NZ I was pleasantly surprised at the changes. We took the 4pm tour (my visiting parents, boyfriend and I) we were started on the tour with a video screen and small intro into Speights. We then took the lift to the 8th floor and began walking our way down, the tour had changes from 3 years ago with production videos showing how the beer is made and you know that every tour guide discusses different content, I was a little sad we didn't step out onto the Speights bridge but my parents who had never done the tour before seemed impressed enough. The tasting room has had a refurb since I last came and now you are able to help yourself to try as little or as much as you like in the allocated time, was great compared to the tour guide last time struggling to keep up with demand. Is still an awesome place to visit and I will reccomend to others when they come to the South Island as well.
Amazing tour to go on.. A Must do Tour when in Dunedin...so enjoyable for all ages...my kids even loved it with their rhubarb and lemonade drink...The tasting room is the best and loved the LPA drink...You will definitely walk out with a big fat smile and a skip in your walk...Big Thanx to Abby she was an amazing tour guide...
The tour was very informative. It was good since we also learned about Otago’s history and how the brewery’s growth are interrelated. The process of making beer was explained thoroughly. The beer tasting was the highlight of the tour!
Ken took us through the brewing process and history of the brewery. He was most informative and willing to answer questions. The tour finished with tasting samples of the Speights range. These were tasted over and over due to their generosity.
Great value for money and beer!
Well run tour. Very informative and interactive. Good size group and good tasting at the end of the tour
Very interesting to do this tour of Speight’s factory. The guide is very interesting, and we can drink some beers after the tour!
Great tour of the old brewery at Speights. Very interesting to see the history and old equipment. Enjoyed the tasting afterwards.
Absolutely fantastic tour! Informative, friendly and interesting, I would highly recommend this tour.
I don’t drink beer but did it to humour my husband. We both loved the tour. Ron was a great guide.
Quite a good tour especially if you like beer. The tasting was really nice too!
If a couple of beer samples at the end of your other brewery tour was the highlight then ger set for a whole new level. A lesson in history a vibrant and enlightening guide . This is a fantastic opportunity to see history forged with modern Technology. The beer is great too!!!
Great to hear the history of Speights. The tour guide was fantastic, she certainly knew her stuff. The tasting afterwards was a highlight. We got to pour our own beers.
The tour starts with a bit of history, founding of Dunedin, gold rush at Queenstown, start brewery, etc. At the top floor you will get the process of beer making explained, water, barley & hops, running through the old museum, with copper water stills, old milling machines, copper steep, mash, lauter, destillation & fermentation stills, and cats drinking beer. Then history again, Christchurch earthquake, new investors, tv advertisement. And a quick look at the new installation. Next rush off as the workers did to the taproom where you can get a taste of free ales & lagers until the bell for quick last order.
I enjoyed this tour. The guide was a bundle of knowledge, regarding the history of this site and the importance of this brewery to the country. There are 225 stairs, most of which are negotiated on the down.A tutorial on how the beer is made, was given as we moved through the tour. Ending in a free sampling of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. This tour is quite expensive, but not to be missed.
The tour was very interesting, Graham our tour guide was so funny and made the tour a humorous one. The tasting at the end was awesome followed by shopping at the end being served by Jason who is a top bloke!
Very interesting tour. Great guide and good to taste the different beers. Gift shop also has some good items to buy. Thanks again.
Brilliant your, interesting history talk and seeing the old machines was great too. The beer sampling was so good with being beer straight from the factory. Allison was a brilliant tour guide. Got to purchase one of there beers which is not available anywhere else which is now my favourite.
