I highly recommend this awesome experience! The weather was perfect to get a great view of the coast and the clear sea. We saw three perm whales and had a wonderful time. The pilots were really nice and funny, too. All in all it was worth it and a must do in Kaikoura!

Wings over whales was great, the reviews don't lie! I would highly recommend them. We saw a couple of sperm whales and about 300 dolphins. The views of Kaikoura were nice too. The flight was very smooth. A must-do!

It was a shame that the wale are not out in our trip but the polite is really nice and show around the ocean and guide us around. At least we see some little dolphins. Besides, the polite told me that we can go for a free flight next time. He recommended come in winter next time when will got more wales appears.

Very kind people and an amazing experience! We got to see the sperm whale, and the whole "ride" was awsome.

a great experience and comfy flight, the pilot and staff were friendly and informative. unfortunately by the time we found a whale it was the end of the flight and we only had time for a couple of quick circles around it before having to head back to land. an option to extend the flight by an extra few minutes to allow a more proper viewing of the whale would have been welcome (even though the flight was already over the aloted length of time).

we are totally delighted with this flight, this agency is great, friendly, professional! we had a brief security briefing, then some very interesting explanations about the underwater pit of Kaikoura, and the different whales and dolphins that we can meet there. the flight was really beautiful, the pilot, very friendly, very quickly spotted a whale that we could admire a long time. then he spotted a school of dolphins, it was fabulous to see them jump and play in the water! we then flew over the peninsula, which is really beautiful. we loved this flight and enjoyed every second! our driver kindly agreed to take a picture of us in front of the plane on the way back. I highly recommend this activity and this agency.

My booking was set earlier so I got a call and all worked out really well. Booked 30 min flights and it took a while until a we could see a whale so we flew a bit longer. nice staff, felt safe during the flight, totally worth it

Awesome fly with Air Kaikoura！ The weather is fantastic, and the water is really clear. We saw 4 humpback whales with our lovely pilot and heaps of happy dusky dolphins. They look really happy swimming there. What a great day!

Highly recommend! Air Kaikoura and our pilot Alara were so lovely! We were flexible on timings so were more than happy to wait for the 11am flight rather than take the 10am one we originally booked. This meant that we joined some others with the hope of increasing our chances of seeing whales. We were able to travel to a whale sighting faster than a boat and 40 minutes was a good amount of time to be up in the air. We were lucky enough to see a humpback whale and many many dolphins! I felt the flight was reasonably priced and the views are stunning …even without seeing any marine life! Thank you so much!!

It's a wonderful experience. Just the flight over Kaikoura is really nice and the weather was just perfect. We saw two spermmwhales, one seal and some dolphins. The pilot turned around spermwhales, we could see how big they were compare to the boats and we saw also the last breathe and the diving. I recommend this activity it worth it, we can see much better animals from the sky and i think the plane disturb less the whales!

This day was probably the most exciting and memorable day in my life. I’ve invited some German friends to a flight over whales as is was a wish from them while visiting NZ. Wishes still come through and we had tears in our eyes while doing some loops over the whales in Kaikoura. Spectacular landscapes, unforgettable ocean views, dolphins and 100% pure New Zealand adventure. Very experienced pilot was the icing on the cake and made our day even more amazing . We will be back with more friends in the future. Wicked trip ;)

I recommend taking the flight with these guys. We saw a family of blue whales with a baby as well as sperm whales. Fantastic trip and worth every single cent.

Loved every minute of this experience. Staff were very knowlegable and offered lots of interesting facts. We saw 2 huge sperm whales and could not have had a better experience. 10/10 recommend!

Amazing day to fly and the crew was super down to earth !!

These guys really know their stuff, and give a very friendly personal service, and great value. At first, we thought we were going to be unlucky, but the pilot perservered, and eventually a big Sperm Whale surfaced from his feeding dive. We were richly rewarded with a real birds eye view of the leviathan – fantastic! He stayed on the surface for a good 10 minutes, before raising his massive tail fluke, and heading down the 1500 odd meters for his next feed of squid. So that was it, or so we thought. As we headed for home the pilot diverted over to another bay, where a pod of 200 to 300 Dusky Dolphins were cavorting about – another fantastic sight.

The staff was super nice and the flight was very exciting. Such a unique experience and beautiful views of Kaikoura. I couldn't get to the airport by myself and they were kind enough to pick me up and drop me off. I highly recommend!

The Team were very patient in looking for the whale and with my son who got impatient on the plane. They were also polite to tell us that we had to move the flight later that day due to weather conditions. It was a fun experience. I almost got air sick though, the multiple turns just so everyone could see the whale was really considerate of them, maybe take some meds beforehand. 😅

Everyone at Air Kaikoura aero club was very friendly and welcoming, Jack our pilot was very knowledgeable and we actually saw 1 sperm whale, that stayed on the surface for ages so we got lots of photos, then we also saw 2 hump back whales as well, we missed the orcas, but it was still an amazing flight. I would happily recommend this company.

Always an experience, flying in such a small aircraft! We saw 2 Spermwhales and a big group of Dolphins. The team is extremely professional and well organized, huge recommendation from me.

Such an stunning experience! We were only in Kaikoura for a day, this flight was perfect! On the day of our flight we were very lucky that it was such a clear day. The lady in the office was very friendly and informative, and the pilot was very effective at using time wisely while in the air, we saw a large pod of dolphins and a whale ? This flight was great value for money, we recommend!

The experience was great! We able to see a Sperm Whale , yey! We took as a while to spot the whale but enjoyed the cruise up and above seeing beautiful landscape and sea in Kaikoura . Thank you for our pilot and staff! ☺️

Due to weather conditions our take off time was pushed to the right by 2 hrs. When the weather turned we were off the ground in less then 10 min. Within 15 min we were circling a Sperm Whale 8 miles out from the coast. To see a whale from the air is totally different then only seeing the hump pushing out from the water from a boat. I wish we were there during the high season for whales as seeing a Blue Whale from that height would have been awesome. Overall great experience!!! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience, we’ve seen a male sperm whale playing alone, swimming, blowing water, then it dived down to deep water. Unforgettable memories and must do in Kaikoura!
