Confinement Taupo offers 4 exciting escape rooms with unique themes, storylines and clues as well as outdoor scavenger hunt's perfect for people who enjoy problem-solving games, birthdays, corporate team building and stags or hens do's.
We are located in central Taupo and are the first Escape Room in New Zealand to achieve a Qualmark certification.
Our fully themed escape rooms have regularly changing clues meaning you can come back again and again for a fresh new challenge every time. Get your team together and put your detective hats on to see if you can solve the clues and puzzles to escape in 60 minutes or less...
The Hunting Lodge
Last Clue Change: June 2022
Difficulty Levels: Standard 4/5
Storyline: Attention Detectives, important update: A double murder has taken place at an AirBnB called "The Hunting Lodge." The crime scene is very disturbing. Your task is to catch the criminal quickly. We have only 60 minutes to solve this before it's made public. Failure is not an option. Find the killer, solve the case, and bring them to justice!
Suitability: *This room will need parental discretion for children aged 8-13. Please note there is fake blood/’gory’ props etc in this room that may cause distress.This room is dark, and those with poor eyesight may find it difficult.

Best escape room to date!
Exceptional detail in room and challenging clues. We finished the standard level but not the advanced, though attempted. Very clever people who designed this space. Hands down the best escape room we've experienced, highly recommend!

HUNTING LODGE ESCAP3 ROOM
DEFINITELY top tier!!! Best staff. & the rooms are soo so much fun. And when needed they were there within seconds to help when needed. 10/10 for sure. Taupo confinement escape rooms is a must!!

MUST DO FAMILY EXPERIENCE
A fantastic experience, we found it tough as we chose the hardest level and majority of the group were suffering from a late night in town but still managed to escape with 1m27s to spare LOL, will definitely be back to try the other rooms, FIVE STAR
