The good
Absolutely thrilling for us as first timers. What a ride! The service is stellar from comms, safety briefing, waiting areas, staff- pilots, receptionists. Shout out to pilot Craig-good guy, with so much experience and local knowledge👍🏽 Totally trusted his skills. We also had pilot Duncan on board 👏🏽 We had a bit of wind which means pilots land in safest spots they determine. We had 2 landings, one in fresh snow (in late Oct)- so special and then in tussock, overlooking former goldmining area. Great to see the efforts of planting native trees up close, and the regeneration of natives trees.
The bad
This activity is totally weather dependent. Trust them if you can't fly, or land where you'd hoped.
The ugly
Having to weigh yourself- again for safety but it's discreet.
Having to wait another year for next trip to do it all again!
