Willowbank is the only place where you can meet New Zealand's Big 5 wildlife with the cheeky Kea, the ancient Tuatara, our bush parrot the Kaka, the very rare Takahe and of course the Kiwi. Kiwi viewing is guaranteed with no glass to hinder your view!

Guarantee a Kiwi
The kids and I always love Willowbank. It is a fabulous place to see Kiwi and we have never not been able to see them. They were so close this time. All of the animals are so great and well looked after.

Good collection
This is a casual 'zoo' with open spaces everywhere. The thing I liked about this place is that there is a specific trail to follow most of the time with minimal backtracking. The mix of animals was good too, with native animals and farming animals. You can buy food to feed the animals. We didn't, but we did watch someone feed an eel which was pretty cool. We were a group of three adults and we all enjoyed it. Worth going to look at.
