This was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand.
This is the best outdoor thermal and trail experience we've ever had in Rotorua. Fantastically beautiful and unspoilt. In addition, everything is well laid out and well maintained. The staff are also super knowledgeable and helpful from start to finish. The boat trip is optional extra but shouldn't be missed as it really takes the experience to next level.
Was an amazing walk. But sadly the other boat had broken down and we were unable to go on the cruise. The team were very apologetic and have organised a refund. Will definitly go again thought and see if the cruise is up and running
I have been here twice, and will go back again every possibility. The natural beauty and geothermal history is mind-blowing. I had been in 2024, and took my husband and kids when we went back for Christmas in 2025. I had really talked it up, so the hope that they loved it too was really high. Happy to say that they thought is was amazing too. I recommend Waimangu Volcanic Valley to anyone going to the Rotorua region. The staff are brilliant, and the informative boat trip is a must.
