Awesome

Im really glad we booked the tour, got more information and insight about the treaty and the grounds and the surrounding plants. I think if we didn’t book with the tour we would’nt have a clue and much more knowledge of the surroundings. The marae/ powhiri and maori entertainment was fantastic. Such talented individuals. Definitely worth doing. Vinaka vaka levu, Sereana Bebenisala.

Informative must

Been to NZ many times BUT to do this activity is the best @ Waitangi - information afternoon - peaceful & stunning views. The culture presentation was moving & the museum very well presented - a must do if in area.

Mixed feelings....

For starters - while I’m aware the government does not provide operational funding, this place should of be charging NZ citizens to visit, and especially not $25 per person. The tour was very much aimed at international tourists , with a lot of Maori culture focus - and barely touched on the detail of the treaty content and subsequent issues. The museum is new, but presented in the old style book on the wall format, and was difficult to engage with. Beautiful site and all NZ’s should visit but the price and attached format is very disappointing.

An interesting insight into Maori history

Joey our guide was excellent in the way he told us all about Waitangi - the treaty, the war canoe, the Treaty house and The Flagstaff. We also liked the way he referred to us Aussies as friends and Allies. We really enjoyed the cultural performance especially the way everything they did was explained to us. The museum was well laid out and interesting - we could’ve spent a long time there. The whole experience was well worth our entry fee.
