Harry said... What an amazing day! The bay of islands is a lovely place to visit and spend the day sailing through some of the 144 islands. A really lovely way to see some of the islands and beaches.
Russell and Karen were amazing hosts, friendly, welcoming, relaxed and good to have a laugh with. They are locals and have been coming by boat to visit these islands for years, so they have lots of interesting knowledge of the area to share. They have only been running commercial boat trips for a couple of months now, but you would think they had been doing it for years as everything was just perfect!
Everything ran smoothly, effortlessly and perfectly timed. They were great hosts and looked after us so well. Delicious coffee and brioche cake in the morning and yummy brownie for afternoon cake. Plus a fantastic lunch! Russell is a chef and the bbq lunch and roasted veggies were delicious. You can also bring your own alcohol.
It’s a lovely boat, plenty of space and small group sizes (unlike some of the other boats which have so so many people on and look uncomfortable and hectic). We spent time sailing around, docked by a lovely beach, a few snorkel masks and inflatable rings for people to use. Just a perfect way to relax and spend the day.
I would highly recommend this trip, Karen and Russell (and their gorgeous dog Woody!!). Incredible experience and value, a must do!
