Take the bikes out for a self guided adventure on the most popular trails of the region.
Jump in the shuttle that will take you down the scenic roads from downtown Wanaka to the lakeside town of Hawea. You will be dropped off in Hawea where you can grab a coffee before setting off to the explore the Hawea River Track on our state of the art mountain bikes.
This fantastic 30km scenic ride is our most popular and is the perfect way to escape the crowds and experience nature at its finest. Starting at Lake Hawea, you’ll guide yourself along a grade 2 trail that follows the Hawea and Clutha rivers, exposing luscious native bushland and gorgeous scenic vistas as you travel to the Wanaka lakefront and back to Wanaka township. From here you may choose to extend your ride with a visit to #WANAKATREE, the perfect way to end the trip!

Entspannte und schöne Tour
Wir wurden pünktlich vor der i-Site abgeholt und Emily hat uns auf dem Weg zum Lake Hawea ein paar interessante Dinge zur Gegend erzählt. Man fährt den Hawea River Track, der unkompliziert ist und am Ende über eine Hängebrücke führt. Danach geht es auf Teerstraßen oder über einen einfachen Trail am Ufer des Lake Wanaka zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. Die Räder sind Hardtails von Giant. Ganz ok, aber die Schaltung war nicht die neueste.

Fun and safe bike ride with delicious lunch spot
The bike ride from Lake Hawea to Wanaka was scenic and enjoyable. It was fine on a standard bike (ie it did not require an e-bike) for a moderately fit person. Pembroke Patisserie in Albert Town is always delicious.

Great experience
We had a great time. The weather was good and the scenery along the way was beautiful. We opted for ebikes because of my knee issue which works really well. Brendon was fantastic, very friendly, gave us detailed instructions.
