Experience the tranquil wilderness of Doubtful Sound on a once in a lifetime overnight journey aboard the Fiordland Navigator.
Doubtful Sound is an amazing fiord located deep in the isolated World Heritage Area of Fiordland National Park. Home and sanctuary to an impressive array of wildlife you may see fur seals, bottle nose dolphins, and rare penguins as well as a myriad of other marine and birdlife.
Your expedition starts in Manapouri where you take a short cruise across the lake, next you board a coach to journey across Wilmot Pass, through ancient rainforest, to Deep Cove. Here your crew and ship, the Fiordland Navigator, greet you for the beginning of your unforgettable overnight cruise experience on Doubtful Sound.
Cruising the fiord you will be in awe of the spectacular scenery that surrounds you, a knowledgable nature guide provides informative commentary insuring nothing is missed and helping you get the most from the experience.
Dropping anchor in a sheltered cove, the option is yours to explore the shoreline by kayak or tender-craft, or indeed to just relax onboard the Fiordland Navigator. For the bold and brave there is the option to take a dip and go swimming!
After the days activities it is time to unwind in the dining saloon and enjoy a delicious three course buffet prepared by the onboard chef. Enjoy the company of fellow travellers, and indulge in a drink or two from the onboard licensed bar. On clear nights there is nothing like taking in the spectacular southern night sky from the ships upper deck.
The following day begins with a hearty cooked breakfast, before time is spent checking out other areas and attractions within this pristine fiord. Returning back to Deep Cove for the scenic return to Manapouri.
